What is CBT?

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is an evidenced based talking therapy which helps you to develop an understanding of your emotional difficulties and learn to manage these difficulties by changing the way you think and behave.

How it works

When we feel anxious or low we can fall into patterns of unhelpful thinking and behaving (e.g. avoidance or worry) which can maintain negative emotions or worsen how we feel. CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours are interconnected and that if we can change one area, this can alter the others and help you to improve your overall wellbeing. CBT helps to empower individuals and involves practicing skills to manage current difficulties in a healthier way.

CBT is recommended by  the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for the treatment of many mood and anxiety disorders.

CBT Sessions

Entering therapy can be an anxiety provoking experience and therefore I offer
a calm, non-judgemental approach and work at the client’s own pace.

Number of sessions

CBT is a short term problem focused therapy.
It is difficult to say exactly how many sessions a client will need
as every individual is different however most of my treatment
courses are between 6 to 20 sessions.

Frequency

Treatment sessions are offered on a weekly basis.

Duration

Sessions last approximately 50 minutes each.

Location

I am currently offering video sessions via Microsoft Teams from the comfort of your own home.

Pricing

Sessions cost £80 per session, which can be paid by internet bank transfer.
If you are interested in purchasing a bundle of 6 sessions, I will offer a discounted price of £450 (£75 per session).
